Therapy designed for your journey
Every person who walks through the door at Twish brings a unique story, a unique struggle, and a unique set of strengths. Shimul's role is not to fix you. It is to walk alongside you as you find your own way forward. Services are available in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, in-person in Mississauga and Markham, and virtually across Canada.
Free Initial Consultation
FREE15 minutes, no obligation
Not sure if therapy is right for you? Not sure if Shimul is the right fit? That is exactly what the free 15-minute consultation is for. This is a gentle, no-pressure conversation, not a clinical assessment, not a commitment, and not a sales call. It is simply a chance for you to ask questions, share a little of what brought you here, and get a genuine sense of how Shimul works.
Many people who come to Twish have never tried therapy before. Others have had experiences in the past that felt cold, clinical, or culturally out of touch. Either way, this initial conversation is designed to give you confidence that you are making the right choice before you invest your time, energy, or money.
After the consultation, there is absolutely no pressure to book. If it feels right, Shimul will walk you through the next steps. If it does not, she will do her best to point you toward someone who is a better fit.

Individual Therapy
$15050 minutes, in-person or virtual
Individual therapy at Twish is a compassionate, one-on-one space where you can slow down, turn inward, and finally address what you have been carrying. Whether you are navigating anxiety that will not quiet, a depression that has made everything feel heavy, a trauma you have never properly processed, or a life transition that has left you feeling unmoored, Shimul is here to help you make sense of it.
Her approach is integrative, meaning she does not follow a rigid script. She draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, mindfulness practices, narrative therapy, psychodynamic exploration, and attachment-based work, choosing tools that genuinely fit you rather than applying the same framework to everyone.
Common areas of focus in individual therapy at Twish include anxiety and worry, depression and low mood, trauma and PTSD, phobias and fear-based patterns, burnout and chronic stress, sleep difficulties and insomnia, ADHD-related emotional regulation, addiction and recovery, self-worth and identity, life transitions, cultural identity and belonging, and workplace or career stress.
Couples Therapy
$25050 minutes, in-person or virtual
Every relationship has seasons. Some seasons are warm and connected. Others feel cold, distant, or filled with the same arguments cycling endlessly without resolution. Couples therapy at Twish is not about assigning blame or determining who is right. It is about understanding what is happening between you, and building a stronger, more trusting foundation together.
Shimul uses Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) as her primary framework for couples work. EFCT is one of the most thoroughly researched and effective approaches to relationship therapy available. It works by helping couples identify the negative interaction cycles that keep them stuck, understand the deeper emotional needs and attachment fears driving those cycles, and then actively reshape the way they connect and communicate.
Twish welcomes all couples regardless of relationship structure, orientation, or cultural background. Intercultural relationships, same-sex couples, and couples navigating significant life changes such as parenthood, loss, or relocation are all warmly welcomed. Shimul brings deep sensitivity to the unique pressures that different relationship dynamics can create.
Common areas of focus in couples therapy include communication breakdown, trust and betrayal, emotional distance, intimacy, conflict resolution, cultural or family pressures on the relationship, and navigating major life transitions as a couple.
Virtual Therapy
Secure video, anywhere in Canada
Distance is not a barrier to meaningful therapy. Virtual sessions at Twish offer the exact same quality of care, warmth, and confidentiality as in-person appointments, delivered through a secure, encrypted, HIPAA-compliant video platform provided by Kindred Practices.
Virtual therapy is ideal if you live outside of Mississauga or Markham, have a busy schedule that makes in-person appointments difficult, prefer the comfort and privacy of your own space, or simply find that online sessions feel more accessible to you. Many clients across Canada, including those in Toronto, Brampton, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton, Kingston, Ottawa, and beyond, access their sessions virtually with Shimul.
All you need is a private space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone. Shimul will take care of the rest.
